The Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) is the agency charged with licensing and regulating State of Florida businesses and professionals, such as cosmetologists, veterinarians, condominiums, hotels, and restaurants. Our mission is to license efficiently and regulate fairly, and we strive to meet this goal in our day-to-day operations.

This position is located within the Bureau of Compliance of the Division of Condominiums, Timeshares and Mobile Homes. This in-office position is part of the investigative team and serves as the primary point of contact for receiving complaints.

• Reviews complaint forms regarding a wide range of complex issues, in accordance with the Bureau of Compliance procedures, to determine compliance with the Florida Statutes and Florida Administrative Code.
• Ability to analyze and review complaint forms to determine if sufficient evidence was provided or to obtain sufficient documentation, verify licensure, research prior complaint history, obtain other information necessary to prepare investigative memos/reports; refer appropriate correspondence and cases to investigative staff with written analysis citing specific possible violations of the pertinent statute or rule.
• Requires consistent, timely, and precise updates and responses in either written or telephonic communication with complainants and subjects regarding complaints, updates, and inquiries submitted to the Division regarding cases, the Division program area, or any other types of inquiries assigned; maintain case files; and effectively monitor caseload to ensure cases are processed in a timely manner.
• Attends training when applicable to enhance professional development and expertise.
• Conducts case and non-related case travel.
• Performs related work and special assignments as required.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
• Knowledge of investigative techniques.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply statutes and administrative rules to specific fact scenarios.
• Ability to conduct fact-finding interviews and take statements.
• Ability to collect and analyze evidence.
• Ability to conduct thorough investigations.
• Ability to write accurate investigative reports.
• Skilled with attention to detail and critical thinking.
• Skilled in strong oral and written communication.
• Skilled in customer service etiquette.

• Two years of investigative experience
• Two years of experience in researching and analyzing statutory issues
• Valid Florida Driver License
• Case and non-related case Travel

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university; OR
• Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university and two years of investigative experience;
• Who are bilingual in both English and Spanish.
