Summary
Job Summary
Under the supervision of an occupational therapist, assists patients in treatment programs for individual patients according to the principle and practices of occupational therapy. Provides care for inpatient oncology caseload. Collaborates with an interdisciplinary treatment team regarding the needs of the patient. Position includes opportunities to contribute to presentations, publications, supervision of students/interns, and execution of departmental education efforts, etc. which will contribute to advancement in clinical ladder.
Job Specific Duties
- Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, assists with planning and providing treatment to assigned patients in accordance according to established to the occupational therapy practice and standards of care.
- Monitors and responds to the patient's response to treatment and adjusts as appropriate.
- Determines the need for assessment and reports any changes to the supervising therapist.
- Collaborates and communicates with the interdisciplinary team members regarding patient status and discharge planning.
- Completes documentation on each treatment session within the electronic medical record and accurately documents billing charges.
- Documents daily treatment sessions accurately and thoroughly in the electronic medical record following current documentation standards of the department.
- Accurately completes charge sheets billing within Medicare guidelines wiht no more than 2 revenue billing errors per month.
- Other duties as assigned
- Associate's Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant
- Basic Life Support Certification
- Licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant
- One year of clinical experience preferred
