Summary
The Clinical Physicist I performs activities to assure the safe and effective delivery of radiation therapy as prescribed by Radiation Oncology physicians. The Physicalist will work under the supervision of licensed medical physicists and at the direction of the Director of Clinical Physics.
Minimum EducationBachelor's Degree in Medical Physics or a related discipline.
Licensure/CertificationPhysicist in Training Certificate.
Minimum Experience RequiredWith the appropriate educational background this position can be an entry level position into the field of Medical Physics.
Essential Function JobSpecific Duties
Linear Accelerator Quality Assurance
Perform daily, weekly, monthly and annual quality assurance measurements and tests to verify proper performance of linear accelerators, brachytherapy units and any other clinical radiation producing equipment.
Dosimetry Planning And Quality AssuranceProvide technical support to the dosimetry team. Physicist may also be required to generate dosimetry plans for specialty procedures and as a backup for dosimetrists. Perform quality assurance on completed plans ensuring they are accurate and meet planning objectives specified by the physician.
Other duties as assigned.
