At Prado Vision, we have assembled multidisciplinary teams across ophthalmology, optometry and optical retail services to deliver a complete, 360-degree approach to vision care. We share a single medical record to coordinate care across locations and providers and operate with a common set of principles to guide our patient care.
Responsibilities- Schedule patients appointments and surgeries, including reminders and handling rescheduling; assist with pre-surgical testing and ensure all necessary clearances and paperwork are obtained for successful scheduling of surgeries.
- File paperwork, prepare bills, and interact with insurance companies as part of the surgical coordination process.
- Provide pre- and post-operative instructions to patients and counsel them as needed.
- Manage patient information and surgical documentation, entering post-surgery data into patient records.
- Coordinate equipment, procedure rooms, and surgical inventory to ensure adequate preparation for procedures.
- Understand surgical procedures to maintain an accurate and timely surgical schedule and inform relevant medical staff as needed.
- Review risks and benefits of surgery and witness patient signing of consent forms.
- Verify insurance information and collect necessary documents during new patient intake.
- Answer inquiries by phone and email regarding surgical times, appointments, and instructions.
- Full-time, onsite with core hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Potential for evening and weekend hours as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in clerical, administrative, or secretarial work is advantageous.
- Good computer, telephone, and typing skills.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records, and medical coding.
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to effectively multitask.
- Attentive to detail and accuracy.
