The Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) is a transformational leader who redefines compliance in a modern healthcare enterprise. This role goes beyond traditional oversight to include partnering, advising, and innovating – while ensuring alignment with applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards. The CCO will design and implement a next-generation compliance program that is risk-informed, technology-enabled, and deeply embedded in strategic decision‑making, complemented by effective monitoring and accountability practices.
Acting as a catalyst for innovation and a trusted advisor to leadership, this leader combines deep healthcare regulatory expertise with a collaborative, tech‑savvy, and visionary mindset—someone who inspires trust, cultivates talent, and leads with integrity and imagination.
A minimum of ten (10) years of health care compliance, research or health care consulting experience, with progressive responsibility and ten (10) years in a manager/leadership role. A minimum of five (5) years of experience leading a corporate compliance program.
- Deep knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements, including federal and state laws, research compliance, privacy, and billing integrity.
- Proven ability to design and lead enterprise compliance programs that are risk‑based, technology‑enabled, and aligned with organizational strategy.
- Expertise in leveraging automation, analytics, and compliance technology platforms to drive efficiency and real‑time risk monitoring.
- Exceptional leadership skills with a track record of cultivating high‑performing teams, managing talent proactively, and fostering a culture of trust and accountability.
- Strong advisory and influencing skills; able to partner with executives and business leaders to integrate compliance into strategic decisions.
- Advanced communication and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to translate complex regulatory concepts into actionable guidance.
- Expertise in executive‑level reporting and communication, including but not limited to: the Board of Directors, relevant Board Committees (e.g., Risk/Audit/Compliance Committee), and executive leadership.
- Demonstrated experience in change management and driving cultural transformation within large, complex organizations.
- Experience leading high profile, confidential, complex compliance investigations.
- High degree of integrity, sound judgment, and ability to balance innovation with regulatory obligations.
- Experience leading compliance transformation initiatives—shifting from traditional oversight to advisory, risk‑based, and technology‑driven models.
- Demonstrated success embedding compliance into enterprise strategy and innovation within a complex healthcare organization.
- Hands‑on experience in healthcare system operations (clinical, research, or administrative), providing practical insight into workflows and compliance integration.
- Track record of building and developing high‑performing teams and succession planning for critical compliance roles.
- Exposure to compliance challenges in research, international operations, and data privacy/security in healthcare.
- Thought leadership in compliance, ethics, and governance—such as speaking engagements, publications, or participation in industry forums.
- Strategic foresight and ability to anticipate emerging compliance risks in a rapidly evolving healthcare environment.
- Advanced proficiency in compliance analytics, automation tools, and digital platforms to enable real‑time monitoring and predictive insights.

- Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC)
- Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHCP)
- Certified in Healthcare Research Compliance (CHRC)
- Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP)
