Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Rocket Youth (“RY”) was founded in February 2024 to partner with and drive growth in youth enrichment services organizations across the United States. RY creates value by partnering with established local companies, allowing owner-operators to operate independently while receiving resources and hands-on operational expertise to further scale their businesses.
RY is growing at a rapid pace, operating across thirteen states and typically partnering with 1-2 businesses per month with a current footprint of twenty plus business units across several sub-categories within athletics and academics. Position SummaryThe Benefits Manager is responsible for managing all employee benefit programs, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and high-quality service to employees. This role supports the full lifecycle of benefits administration-including enrollment, changes, billing, problem resolution, and reporting-while serving as a primary point of contact for employees regarding health, welfare, and retirement benefits.
Position Responsibilities- Administer employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, 401k plan, and wellness programs.
- Manage new hire benefit enrollment, qualifying events changes, and annual open enrollment.
- Manage the coordination of new partner onboarding to benefit plans.
- Process benefit changes in HRIS and ensure accurate payroll deduction set up.
- Maintain and distribute plan documents, benefit summaries, and communications.
- Work with benefits broker on plan design, and contribution setup for new partners.
- Provide guidance to employees regarding plan options, eligibility, claims process, and problem resolution.
- Educate employees during onboarding and open enrollment on benefit offerings.
- Generate reports for management, payroll, and compliance programs.
- Assist with annual filings such as 5500 forms and nondiscrimination testing.
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in benefits administration or HR generalist roles.
- Strong understanding of ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and other benefits-related regulations.
- Experience with HRIS and benefits management systems.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively across functions in a fast-paced, acquisition-driven environment.
- Accountability, ownership, and a continuous learning mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- UKG experience a plus and solid knowledge of HRIS platforms.
