Overview

Erwin Electric, Inc. is a continually growing company in the Tampa Bay market with over 20 years of proven ability and service. We have completed hundreds of successful electrical projects throughout Tampa Bay and beyond, emphasizing safety, quality, integrity, and dedication to meeting challenging construction projects.

The Human Resource Assistant will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization’s Human Resource department. The role will work with management to build a talent workforce through recruiting, building relationships with outside vendors, and managing the apprenticeship program.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation. Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees related to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
  • Assists in recruitment processes, including posting job openings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and coordinating interview schedules.
  • Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
  • Provides clerical support to the HR department.
  • May assist with payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, correcting processing errors, and distributing checks.
  • Conducts or assists with new hire orientation.
  • Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, etc.
  • Assists with apprenticeship programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Assists with processing of job changes and terminations.
  • May assist with the preparation of human resource reports such as attendance, new hire, and turnover reports.
  • Assists with compliance related tasks, i.e. EEOC, OSHA.
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Associates’ Degree in a related field or 2+ years’ experience in administrative support
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of Human Resource principles, practices and procedures
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management
  • Bi-Lingual abilities (Spanish) preferred
Compensation
  • $20-$23.00/hr
