HR Manager, Talent Manager
The Director of HR Systems & Payroll is a strategic leader who unites proven human resources expertise with forward-looking technology adoption. This role ensures the organization’s people strategy drives business success while leveraging HCM systems, payroll, analytics, and automation to enhance efficiency, compliance, and employee engagement.
As we scale, this role will initially carry hands-on, direct operational responsibilities, actively managing the launch and optimization of HCM systems (Paylocity), payroll operations (ADP), processes, and reporting. The Director will ensure accurate, compliant, and timely payroll execution while integrating payroll systems with broader HCM and people operations strategies. Over time, the Director will build structure, capabilities, and team capacity to support growth, transitioning from direct execution to a more strategic, scalable leadership model.
The position is central to building an agile, future-ready organization where people, payroll, and technology work in harmony to deliver business success. This role reports to the Vice President of People Operations.
Position Responsibilities and Key Deliverables- Lead the strategy, optimization, and ongoing management of the HCM platform and payroll operations to ensure alignment with business objectives and People Operations priorities.
- Participate in M&A diligence reviews and integration activities for new partners resulting in successful technology adoption and payroll reliability compliance.
- Manage payroll and payroll processes ensuring accurate, reliable and compliant employee pay.
- Direct HCM integration for acquired companies, managing the integration playbook and driving effective adoption across the organization.
- Deliver real-time workforce analytics and reporting to inform strategic decision-making.
- Ensure data integrity, database accuracy, and compliance with labor laws, data privacy regulations, ethical AI standards, and internal policies.
- Manage the HR technology product roadmap, budgets, governance, and change management processes, including prioritization and execution of system initiatives.
- Partner cross-functionally to ensure seamless system integrations and an engaging, user-friendly employee experience.
- Develop and deliver HCM training programs to drive adoption and user effectiveness at all organizational levels.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and inclusivity within HR technology and People Operations functions.
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including HCM systems management.
- Demonstrated success in both strategic HRIS initiatives and System Implementations.
- Strong knowledge of HCM/HRIS systems, databases, and system integrations.
- Thorough understanding of HR best practices, wage and hour laws, and system-delivered compliance.
- Knowledge of AI applications, automation tools, and workforce analytics.
- Demonstrated success in leading change and fostering innovation.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
