Professor of Computer Engineering, Tenured​/Tenure-Track

Overview

The Division of Engineering at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) invites applications for an open-rank (Assistant, Associate, or Full), tenured, or tenure-track faculty position in the Computer Engineering program. We seek candidates with a research focus on the theoretical foundations and practical applications of advanced machine learning techniques.

Emphasis will be given to theoretical approaches in machine learning for real-world applications, with a preferred focus on optimization, data-efficient machine learning, approximate inference, statistical machine learning, continual learning, distributed machine learning, and the security and privacy aspects of machine learning. These areas have applications in healthcare, finance, transportation, education, and entertainment.

• Conduct high-impact research with potential to lead a successful research program.
• Contribute to teaching in core and advanced Computer Engineering subjects, including Operating Systems, Data Structures, Algorithms, Optimization, Machine Learning, Reinforcement Learning, Computer Vision, and Pattern Recognition.
• Contribute to curriculum development and service to the department and university.

• PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• A strong record of research excellence demonstrated through high-impact publications or clear potential to develop a successful program.
