Position Summary
The Manager of Site Merchandising Initiatives plays a pivotal role in shaping e-commerce strategies that enhance the Company's brand, online conversion rate, customer experience, and revenue. You will analyze digital performance using multiple platforms to make data-backed recommendations to leadership and cross-functional team members, including but not limited to Site Merchandising, UX, Product Management, and Marketing. This role is ideal for someone with firsthand experience managing at least one category of business in an DTC e-commerce site, a strong organizational/project management skill set, and a passion for digital optimization.
You will focus on collaborating to build world-class customer experiences and deliver exponential growth through new innovative customer offerings and best-in-class execution. At the start, this role will serve as the main point of contact for the online bedding category internally and externally. This role reports to the Senior Director of e-commerce Strategic Initiatives.
Primary Job Functions
- Help drive the strategic vision and execution for the eCommerce site, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance user experience and deliver on business goals.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase online sales, conversion rates, and average order value.
- Serve as a liaison between Site Merchandising and Product teams to prioritize and implement new site functionality and enhancements. Ensure projects remain on track to achieve expected deadlines.
- Collaborate with Marketing, UX, and Product teams to align digital campaigns with business goals.
- Analytics & Optimization
- Continually review and analyze online competitors for benchmarking and opportunities. Report findings and provide appropriate strategies for leadership when needed.
- Monitor and analyze website performance and user behavior using Google Analytics 4 (GA4), internal Power BI dashboards, Quantum Metric, and other tools.
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to stakeholders based on data analysis.
- Stay current on eCommerce regulations and best practices.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Merchandising teams to drive online sales and enhance the digital customer experience for assigned categories in accordance with national strategies and brand guidelines.
- Responsible for all sales and merchandising activities for assigned categories.
- Oversee product discovery, listings, and categorization for assigned categories.
- Coordinate seasonal promotions, product launches, and content updates for assigned categories.
- Execute vendor operations for assigned categories, including but not limited to sourcing, contract/term negotiations, item and content setup, and promotional planning.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, merchandising or related field, or equivalent work experience, Required
- 5+ years’ experience in DTC site merchandising, e-commerce, or product management, preferably in bedding or home furnishings
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication (verbal, written, & interpersonal) skills
- Proficiency in:
- Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
- Salesforce Commerce Cloud or equivalent platform(s)
- Quantum Metric or equivalent analytics tool(s)
- General understanding of UX best practices
- Strong understanding of CRO, digital customer journeys, and ecommerce best practices
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- General project management and critical thinking skills required with strong attention-to-detail
