Business Intelligence & Solutions Engineer

Wharton‑Smith, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced Business Intelligence and
Solutions Engineer to work in the Business Intelligence & Solutions Division in the Sanford, FL or Tampa, FL area. This is a fully on‑site role. Remote work is not available. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis and must not require employer sponsorship now or in the future.

• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and data models while building and optimizing Power Automate workflows to support and automate business processes.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into effective technical solutions, integrating data from multiple sources with a focus on accuracy, security, and performance.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance reports and automated workflows to ensure reliability and efficiency, while documenting solutions and standards to support scalability and knowledge sharing.
• Stay current with Power Platform updates and best practices in a fast‑paced environment, with a strong interest in learning Power Apps and adopting additional technologies as business needs evolve.

• Proficient in Microsoft Power BI and Power Automate, including report and dashboard development, data modeling, DAX, Power Query, and workflow automation.
• Strong experience integrating data from SQL databases, Excel, SharePoint, Dataverse, cloud‑based sources, and REST APIs, with working knowledge of JSON data structures and API calls.
• Skilled in building automated processes using triggers, conditions, approvals, expressions, error handling, and custom connectors.
• Knowledge of Power Platform integration, data security, governance, and performance optimization, with the ability to troubleshoot, document, and maintain scalable solutions.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and organizational levels.

• Proven at translating technical or complex information into clear, user‑friendly language for non‑technical stakeholders.

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Business, or a related field or equivalent professional experience.
• Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining Power BI reports, dashboards, and data models, as well as designing and optimizing Power Automate workflows.
• Strong understanding of data integration, DAX, Power Query, and Power Platform connectors.
• Ability to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions while collaborating with stakeholders in a fast‑paced environment.
• Self‑motivated with strong communication, problem‑solving, and time‑management skills.
