Library Student Assistant (Finance)
The Library Student Assistant will support Library Access Services operations during weekend and nighttime hours. Responsibilities include building monitoring, basic customer service at the circulation desk, safety reporting, and participation in opening/closing procedures. This position requires reliable weekend availability and at least one weekly shift ending at 2:00 a.m.
Minimum QualificationsCurrently enrolled USF Student.
Preferred QualificationsCustomer Service experience. Working at USF.
Duties- Conduct regular floor checks throughout the building to monitor safety, cleanliness, and facility conditions.
- Perform hourly patron headcounts and report activity levels in designated areas.
- Support circulation desk operations, including checking in/out materials, handling basic patron inquiries, and maintaining service desk presence.
- Report any security, maintenance, or policy-related concerns to full-time staff or security personnel.
- Ensure library policies are followed, including proper use of study spaces and after-hours procedures.
- Assist with closing or opening procedures, including securing rooms, tidying public spaces, and preparing equipment.
- Record and relay issues or incidents using designated reporting tools or communication channels.
Position will require Saturday or Sunday availability as well as at least one night shift ending at 2:00 a.m.
