Information Security Officer

We are seeking a seasoned Fractional Information Security Officer (CISO) to provide strategic and operational cybersecurity leadership for a payments and/or SaaS-based technology organization. This role is ideal for a senior security executive who has built and led enterprise‑grade security programs in highly regulated, cloud‑first environments.

The Fractional ISO will oversee the protection of systems, data, applications, and networks while guiding the organization through evolving cyber threats, compliance requirements, and customer trust expectations common to payments and SaaS platforms.

• Own and drive the overall information security and cybersecurity strategy aligned with business goals
• Oversee security across cloud infrastructure, SaaS platforms, APIs, and payment systems
• Lead risk management efforts related to data protection, transaction security, and platform resilience
• Design and mature security governance, policies, standards, and controls
• Ensure compliance with relevant frameworks and regulations, including PCI DSS
• Serve as executive advisor to leadership on security risks, roadmap, and investments
• Lead incident response planning, breach readiness, and response execution if needed
• Evaluate and manage third‑party and vendor security risk, including payment processors and SaaS partners
• Guide security architecture decisions for cloud‑native, microservices, and API‑driven environments
• Oversee security tooling, monitoring, and vulnerability management programs
• Stay ahead of emerging threats impacting payments, SaaS platforms, and customer data

• 10–15+ years of experience in cybersecurity and information security
• Demonstrated success leading large‑scale, enterprise security programs
• Prior experience as a CISO, Deputy CISO, Head of Security, or senior security leader
• Deep expertise in:
  • Cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Application and API security
  • Data protection and encryption
  • Identity and access management (IAM)
  • Network and infrastructure security
  • Security risk management and governance
• Understanding of payments, fintech, or SaaS security challenges
• Experience working closely with executive teams, auditors, and customers

• Direct experience securing payment processing platforms, financial data, or transaction‑based systems
• CISSP or equivalent such as CISM, CRISC, or similar advanced certifications
• SaaS experience in multi‑tenant, high‑availability environments
• Experience supporting customer‑facing security reviews and questionnaires
• Consulting or fractional leadership background
