We’re looking for a Smart Home Systems Designer to translate client visions into precise, buildable system designs. You’ll collaborate with Sales, Project Management, and Installation to create seamless, reliable, and beautiful technology experiences.
You’ll- Design integrated systems, including Control4, AV, surveillance, networking, lighting, and shades
- Produce scope documents, wiring diagrams, and load schedules
- Specify parts lists, rack elevations, and equipment layouts
- Coordinate with clients, builders, and Hive’s production team
- Support field teams during commissioning or troubleshooting
- Stay current with new tech and Control4 updates
- Detail‑oriented with a strong technical foundation in low‑voltage systems
- Experienced with Control4, Lutron, networking, and surveillance systems
- Comfortable using design software (D-Tools, X‑10, AutoCAD, or similar)
- Able to communicate clearly with clients, builders, and teammates
- Motivated by precision, organization, and great system outcomes
- 2+ years in system design, drafting, or AV integration
- Control4 or CEDIA certification preferred
- Understanding of residential networking fundamentals
- Ability to manage multiple active projects and deadlines
