As a Tech Risk & Controls Resiliency Lead in Foundational Services (FS), you will identify and mitigate compliance and operational risks in line with the firm's standards. You will provide engineering subject matter expertise and technical guidance to technology-aligned process owners, ensuring that implemented controls operate effectively and in compliance with regulatory, legal, and industry standards. By partnering with stakeholders including Engineering Leads, Application Owners, Technical Control Managers, and Regulators, you will contribute to reporting a comprehensive view of technology risk posture and its impact on the Firm.
Your technical background and advanced knowledge of cybersecurity principles, practices, and theories will enable you to drive innovative solutions in a dynamic tech resiliency landscape. The Tech Risk & Controls Resiliency Lead manages and coordinates the operational execution of Technology Resiliency activities within Foundational Services, focusing on Networks, Storage, and Data Protection and Recovery. This role requires building strong relationships with Application Owners, engineering teams, third-party service providers, and internal stakeholders to effectively provide end-to-end infrastructure services related to the recovery of the Technology Group Owners’ (TGO) production applications, services, and/or products.
You will work across multiple levels to identify, socialize and mitigate resiliency risks. You will participate in recovery strategies and simulation exercises and should have knowledge of architectural solutions, service delivery, and a high-level understanding of product and service level component failure impact. Experience with Application Dependency Mapping for upstream and downstream related applications and services is highly desirable.
- Leverage technical expertise to strengthen resiliency through scrutiny of plans, open communication and by driving solutions with team members and function owners.
- Plan, execute, and coordinate resiliency tests (Recovery Strategy and Notification) as required by objectives and standards (e.g., tabletop exercises).
- Partner with engineering leads and application owners to create and maintain resiliency documentation.
- Monitor non-compliance and partner with application teams and IP Resiliency Governance to drive remediation steps.
- Coordinate resiliency activities required by regulatory authorities (e.g., plan remediation, testing requirements, compliance reporting).
- Ensure effective identification, quantification, communication, and management of technology risk, focusing on root cause analysis and resolution recommendations.
- Develop and maintain robust relationships with technologists, assessment teams, and application owners to facilitate cross-functional collaboration and progress toward shared goals.
- Execute reporting and governance of controls, policies, issue management, and measurements, providing senior management insights into control effectiveness and informing governance work.
- Proactively monitor and evaluate control effectiveness, identify gaps, and recommend enhancements to strengthen risk posture and regulatory compliance.
- 5+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in technology risk management, information security, or related field, emphasizing risk identification, assessment, and mitigation.
- Familiarity with risk management frameworks, industry standards, and financial industry regulatory requirements.
- Proficient knowledge and expertise in data security, risk assessment & reporting, control evaluation, design, and governance, with a track record of implementing effective risk mitigation strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to influence executive-level strategic decision-making and translate technology insights into business strategies for senior executives.
- Detail oriented with strong project management and organizational skills.
