Job Summary

The Sr.Software Engineer within the Dev Ops team will lead the design, implementation, and evolution of cloud-native infrastructure and automated systems that power our hockey analytics platform and data ecosystem. This role has a strong emphasis on AWS-based architecture,Dev Sec Opsbest  practices, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), while continuing to support software engineering, data platform development, and analytics-driven applications.

The Sr.Software Engineer will play a key role in building secure, scalable, andhighly reliablecloud infrastructure, enabling rapid, safe delivery of analytics solutions through modern CI/CD pipelines and automation-first engineering practices. You will work across data architecture, platform services, and application development, ensuring seamless delivery, operational excellence, and rapid issue resolution.

Working closely with the Director of Dev Ops & Data Engineering and other team members,the Sr.Software Engineer will act as a technical leader—sharing cloud, security, and automationexpertiseto help the team deliver high-quality, production-grade systems. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure and core services for the hockey analytics platform, with a strong focus on AWS architecture, scalability, reliability, security, and performance.

• Architect and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Cloud Formation, or similar frameworks to ensure reproducible, auditable, and secure environments across development and production.

• Champion Dev Sec Ops practices , embedding security, compliance, and observability into CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure, and application delivery processes.

• Build,maintain, and optimize
  
  CI/CD pipelines to support automated testing, deployment, and infrastructure provisioning.

• Develop andmaintaininternal tooling, services, and dashboards that support hockey data analysis, platform monitoring, and operational visibility.

• Monitor cloud systems, applications, and data pipelines, proactivelyidentifyingperformance, cost, reliability, or security issues and troubleshooting production incidentsin a timely manner.

• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and cross-functional stakeholders to gather requirements and design scalable, maintainable, and efficient cloud-native solutions.

• Lead architectural discussions, code reviews, and infrastructure reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices for cloud design, security, coding standards, and operational excellence.

• Mentor junior engineers and interns, fostering a collaborative environment and promoting professional growth through hands-on technical guidance, cloud architecture mentorship, and regular feedback.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

• 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering, cloud infrastructure, Dev Ops, or related roles.

• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.

• Proficiency in Python, including software design, development, and debugging.

• Experience with SQL and/or No

• Deep experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS (preferred), including cloud networking, compute, storage, managed services, and security concepts.

• Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, Cloud Formation) and cloud automation.
