Overview

Placed at the heart of Gensler’s People + Process + Technology, the Design Technology Community leads the firm’s digital transformation. This role will drive research, promotion, elevation, and strategic implementation of our digital ecosystem across the Southeast Regional Design Technology Studio.

Responsibilities
  • Strategic development and implementation of Design Technology initiatives and goals.
  • Facilitation and support of R&D and innovation efforts.
  • Elevate computational/generative design skills and solutions.
  • Integrate computational thinking into design storytelling for our design teams.
  • Establish digital fluency and cross‑platform integration and interoperability from concept to delivery.
  • Create and progress the brand and ecosystem for Southeast Design Technology.
  • Provide insight, guidance, and leadership through people development.
  • Develop, implement, and support Project Technology Execution Plans.
  • Increase operational excellence through efficient, proven methodologies.
  • Transform data‑driven ideas into reality on projects.
  • Champion digital transformation and cultural change throughout the region.
  • Collaborate with Regional Design Technology leaders on requirements and priorities.
  • Drive the Design Technology roadmap for the region.
  • Lead cultural, process‑driven, and technical training in Design Technology.
  • Develop and implement a robust, agile AI workflow for visualization.
  • Drive visualization innovation as a competitive advantage.
  • Develop and support visualization tools and framework.
  • Interpret design intent into high‑quality, computer‑generated images and experiences.
  • Research emerging technologies and define use‑cases for implementation on projects.
  • Represent Gensler at speaking engagements, hackathons, and industry events.
  • Lead software development for plugins and utilities with the development team.
  • Partner with Design Synergies and practitioners across the firm.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent with 10–15 years of experience in AEC/O space.
  • Strong command of the Design Delivery process to fabrication and construction.
  • Documented progressive growth in leading or supporting Design Technology and innovative workflows.
  • Articulate communicator with strong storytelling ability to push new concepts in a creative culture.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit embracing change and seeking engagement opportunities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, consensus building, and trust‑building with teammates and project teams.
  • Expert in design authoring platforms:
    Autodesk Revit, Rhino, Sketch Up, Navisworks.
  • Expert in implementing and supporting design collaboration platforms, virtual environments, and AEC cloud products.
  • Familiarity with Performance Design applications and analysis tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop learning material, deliver training, and provide ongoing support.
  • Highly desired experience in computational/generative design platforms and visual programming (Rhino, Grasshopper, Dynamo).
  • Highly desired interoperability with visualization pipelines and VR/AR hardware/software.
  • Working knowledge of Artificial Intelligence with strategic planning and execution.
  • Reliable, responsive, positive work ethic with integrity.
  • Ability to exercise judgment, discretion, set priorities, and manage competing demands.
Location

This is not a remote or hybrid position. Relocation to Tampa, FL is preferred; non‑local candidates are welcome.
