Service Now Software Platform Engineer
Job OverviewGDIT is looking for a Service Now Software Platform Engineer to maintain the development, test, and production Service Now environments for the USCENTCOM Information Technology Services (CITS) Program supporting the USCENTCOM J6 in Tampa, FL.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain Service Now systems, including workflow development, bug fixes, enhancements, and upgrades.
- Develop and maintain service catalog items, states, flows, and UI policies.
- Monitor system stability to prevent service degradation or interruption.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential gaps.
- Develop dashboards, KPIs, and reports to provide visibility into portfolio performance, risks, and opportunities.
- Support configuration of workflows, business rules, UI policies, and client scripts.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Participate in Scrum processes, testing, debugging, and documentation of Service Now modules.
- Patching and maintaining Service Now system solutions in a Linux environment.
- Assist in delivering best practices for ITIL and Agile frameworks for IT Services.
- Configure application fields, forms, views, email notifications, acceptance roles, and access control.
- Customize core applications such as Incident, Problem, Change, Requests, and Service Catalog.
- Support end users in resolving Service Now support issues.
- U.S. citizenship with current/active Secret clearance (TS eligibility possible).
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- At least 2–5 years of experience implementing Service Now.
- 1–3 years’ experience with patching and maintaining Service Now systems in a Linux environment (preferred).
- Experience with Scrum methodology and Service Now web services.
- Knowledge of incident, problem, change, and request management processes.
- Hands‑on experience with Service Now HTML, CSS, Angular
JS, Jelly scripts, and RESTful API web services. - Strong scripting skills in JavaScript and CSS.
- Service Now Certified System Administrator certification is preferred.
- ITIL v4 Foundation certification or equivalent is desirable.
- Knowledge of ITIL engineering methods and Agile frameworks.
Competitive salary range: $112,840 – $142,600 (based on experience, location, and contractual requirements).
On‑site work only (no remote, telecommuting options). 40 hours per week; less than 10% travel required.
