Summary
Setup, support, and monitor local & global LAN, WLAN, WAN, and VoIP infrastructure. Perform network maintenance, installation, and training tasks to ensure services meet company and user requirements.
Responsibilities- Assist with identifying and expanding corporate private and public cloud services, features, and capabilities.
- Assist with expanding existing and future government cloud platforms including PaaS, IaaS, and SaaS environments for DoD.
- Serve as subject matter expert on cloud Network Administrator technology and market capabilities/trends.
- Collaborate on detailed network, storage, and compute design documentation to ensure strict security compliance, scalable infrastructure, and highly available computing operations.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and support network platforms in existing multi‑tenant cloud/virtualized platforms on Azure Gov and AWS Gov.
- Assess and facilitate network requests: firewall policies, VPN, load balancing, cryptography, network architecture.
- Design and implement security‑first network policies and procedures per NIST 800.171 and CMMC compliance.
- Communicate effectively with end‑users, support staff, management, and other systems departments on internal, cloud, and hybrid initiatives.
- Participate in maintenance, troubleshooting, and support of localized/on‑premise WAN, LAN, and WLAN network infrastructure.
- Implement, manage, and troubleshoot cloud‑based network security systems: firewalls, SD‑WAN appliances, CASB, DNS security appliances, etc.
- Administer corporate network monitoring systems and expand functionality for cloud operations.
- Implement, test, and monitor system enhancements (software and hardware updates/patches) to improve performance and reliability.
- Assist other teams with integration, implementation, and troubleshooting of projects involving local, cloud, and hybrid network services.
- Participate in Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans for all locations.
- Exercise independent judgment in planning, scheduling, organizing, controlling, and monitoring IT projects.
- Assist team members in troubleshooting and resolving corporate IT issues.
- Provide and participate in cross‑training to other team members.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technology discipline or equivalent education and related experience.
- Cisco CCNA Cloud or CCNA Route & Switch (required) OR CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Cloud+, or equivalent certification with minimum 4+ years of experience managing networks.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in support and maintenance of complex network environments, including cloud‑based network segmentation/security appliances.
- In‑depth knowledge of firewalls, routers, Layer 2/3 switches and VLANs and wireless technologies.
- Deep understanding of Layer 2/Layer 3 network stack.
- Ability to configure and troubleshoot routing, switching, and VoIP, particularly within a Cisco environment.
- Knowledge of protocols EIGRP, OSPF, HSRP, BGP, gateway load balancing, and related protocols; familiarity with load balancers and SD‑WAN devices.
- Knowledge of IT security policies pertaining to NIST 800.171 and SIEM.
- Troubleshooting skills for LAN/WAN network and application issues on premise and cloud appliances.
- Knowledge of network services such as DNS, IPAM, SFTP, TFTP, LDAP, SMTP, and DHCP.
- Knowledge of infrastructure monitoring tools using SNMP, Net Flow, and Syslog; 802.1X and certificates.
- Innovation/creativity, project/process management, accountability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and problem‑solving ability.
- Ability to interface well with CAE users and customers at all levels and with CAE Global IT Administrators.
- Eligibility for DoD Personal Security Clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
- CCNP Cloud, AWS Certified Advanced Networking, Azure Administrator Associate, or Azure Security Engineer Associate.
- Significant experience with DNS/DHCP/NAT/firewall security.
- Experience with cloud security appliances and solutions such as CASB.
- Knowledge and experience working with VMware vSphere and Hyper‑V.
- Knowledge and experience supporting a Microsoft Windows network.
