The Data Quality and Business Intelligence Department provides centralized data reporting, analytics, and data management services across Moffitt. The Business Intelligence Developer II works as part of the Enterprise Business Intelligence & Analytics team, responsible for creating and maintaining data analytics, reporting, and curated data models to support strategic initiatives and daily operations.
Position Highlights- Supports strategic initiatives by analyzing operational data across clinical, research, patient, financial, and administrative domains.
- Collaborates with clinicians, researchers, and operational staff to meet data reporting requirements.
- Creates insights through reports and dashboards using BI & Analytics solutions.
- Extensive experience designing and delivering data analytics solutions, building data models and insightful reports.
- Strong knowledge of data architecture and analytics data modeling.
- Proficiency with cloud‑based BI platforms such as Power BI Service, MS Power Platform, Snowflake, Oracle Analytics Cloud, Tableau, or equivalents.
- Willingness to learn emerging technologies to enhance analytics capabilities.
- Healthcare industry experience, particularly oncology data, highly preferred.
- Design, develop, and support BI & Analytics solutions, including reports and dashboards.
- Use SQL (PLSQL), SSRS, Power BI DAX, and other BI software for data modeling and warehousing.
- Handle medium–complexity or higher data requests and manage BI ticket production chain.
- Coach junior staff and promote a positive team dynamic.
- Develop and update technical documentation for data transformations and end‑user support.
- Master’s degree in healthcare informatics, analytics, biostatistics, clinical informatics, computer science, engineering, business analytics, or related field.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in data query, extraction, reporting, and analysis within relevant information systems, including database management and infrastructure.
- Proven expertise in database concepts, ETL, data warehousing, and BI software.
- Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem‑solving skills.
- Commitment to continuous learning of new technologies and training.
- Experience working with clinical, operational, and billing data and EMR systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Experience with financial data, ERP systems like Workday.
