Position: IT Support and Applications Specialist – (Hybrid – Tampa, FL)

About the Opportunity

We’re looking for an IT Support & Applications Specialist with a passion for learning, a kind heart, a positive attitude, and a great sense of humor to join our growing team. This hybrid role is based in our Tampa, Florida office and will support employees across Clear Gov by keeping our devices, SaaS applications, access, and internal support workflows running smoothly.

The IT Support & Applications Specialist will provide exceptional internal user support, administer and improve business applications, and own hands‑on employee lifecycle support. This includes new‑hire equipment preparation, onboarding readiness, account provisioning, offboarding, device recovery, and day‑to‑day support for the Tampa office. The role is expected to work from the Tampa office at least 2‑3 days per week and as needed for onboarding, offboarding, equipment inventory, device preparation, office connectivity, and other in‑person IT needs.

This role is ideal for a mid‑level IT generalist who is comfortable supporting endpoints, SaaS tools, and users in a mixed‑device environment, and can operate independently day‑to‑day while partnering closely with teammates across the business. The IT Support & Applications Specialist will be a key player on an incredible team as we execute our mission to help local governments and school districts take the next step from good to great.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and support core SaaS applications, including productivity suites, collaboration tools, and line‑of‑business platforms
  • Provision, configure, deploy, and support both macOS and Windows laptops, including new hires, replacements, and troubleshooting, ensuring all required applications, security tools, and access permissions are pre‑installed
  • Own end‑to‑end onboarding and offboarding, including device setup and recovery, account provisioning/deprovisioning, access changes, and coordination with in‑office onboarding needs
  • Prepare, store, track, and ship employee equipment, including laptops, chargers, peripherals, and related accessories, ensuring day‑one readiness for new employees and reliable device recovery during offboarding
  • Manage system configurations, application settings, integrations, and overall lifecycle management
  • Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot systems on a daily basis, partnering with vendors and internal teams to resolve issues or outages
  • Analyze application performance and recommend improvements, alternatives, or workflow enhancements
  • Manage user accounts, roles, access permissions, and SSO/IDP platforms
  • Support data flows, API connections, and system integrations between applications
  • Train employees on new tools, features, and best practices to improve user adoption and efficiency
  • Administer and support core SaaS tools including Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, Jump Cloud, , and similar platforms
  • Troubleshoot basic connectivity issues including Wi‑Fi, VPN, DNS, Tampa office network access, and employee device connectivity
  • Support employee mobile devices (iOS and Android) for email, chat, MFA, and core apps
  • Help administer, evaluate, and support approved AI tools such as Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, OpenAI/ChatGPT, and similar platforms, including access management, user guidance, documentation, and responsible‑use support
  • Collaborate with IT teammates to maintain a consistent, high‑quality user experience
  • Support security and SOC 2 compliance efforts, including access reviews, evidence collection, patching, firmware updates, and overall device compliance via MDM or endpoint tools
  • Ability to work in‑person at the Tampa office at least 2‑3 days per week and as needed for employee onboarding, offboarding, equipment preparation, inventory, device recovery, office support, and special company events
