MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer‑oriented Platform Engineer to join our team in Tampa, FL
.

The Platform Engineer will leverage their strong technical background and knowledge to develop and maintain the production environment, ensuring a modern and secure foundation upon which all product teams can deploy containerized applications.

• Develop, configure, and maintain production container orchestration environments including Kubernetes, Open Shift, and VMWare PKS Essentials
• Ensure a modern, secure, and highly available infrastructure foundation for product teams to deploy containerized applications
• Collaborate closely with co‑located team members and product developers to troubleshoot infrastructure and deployment issues
• Monitor platform performance, implement scaling strategies, and ensure system reliability and uptime
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management to streamline platform operations
• Manage the software build process and ensure a seamless connection to the enterprise CI/CD pipelines
• Maintain system baselines and configuration management items for the production infrastructure
• Work with all stakeholders to ensure complete and functioning systems that meet all platform requirements

• High School Diploma/GED with 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in Information Systems Security or Platform Engineering
• Experience providing Dev Sec Ops  implementation using Jenkins, Git Lab, or similar industry‑standard tools
• Hands‑on experience managing and maintaining containerized environments such as Kubernetes, Open Shift, or VMWare PKS
• Experience with Linux systems administration and troubleshooting in enterprise environments
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash for automation and system management
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure‑as‑code tools such as Terraform or Ansible
• Working knowledge of source version control and build/release tools and methodologies

• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP certification)
• Experience with cyber risk and compliance automation tools
• Advanced certifications in Kubernetes such as Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or cloud platforms
• Experience implementing security best practices and compliance controls within containerized environments
• Strong background in networking concepts, service meshes, and ingress controllers
• Experience working in highly secure, co‑located government or defense environments

An active Secret clearance is required with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
• Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
• Frequently communicate with co‑workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations
• Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
