Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Network Architect to support USSOCOM Net Ops and global ISR transport operations in a mission‑critical 24x7x365 environment. This role provides Tier 4 network architecture support in accordance with the SIE OPORD and will support global transport, multicast video delivery, cybersecurity integration, and network modernization efforts.
This position is fully on‑site at Mac Dill Air Force Base in Tampa, FL. This position requires an active TS/SCI (Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information) clearance.
Key Responsibilities- Lead network architecture design, upgrades, optimization, and modernization efforts.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting and Tier 4 escalation support across complex LAN/WAN environments.
- Support connectivity between multiple OCONUS media ports and data centers in the Washington, DC area and Europe/NATO locations.
- Enable multicast video transport from manned and unmanned ISR sources.
- Support Star Shield integration and related transport/network requirements.
- Manage network backups, configuration version control, and system enhancements.
- Integrate cyber defense requirements into network architecture and operations.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization, performance improvement, and operational efficiency.
- Support Cisco Next-Generation Firewall environments, including SFMC/FTD.
- Active TS/SCI clearance.
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification.
- CCIE certification.
- 12+ years of network engineering/architecture experience, depending on degree.
- Deep LAN/WAN experience, including EIGRP, BGP, MPLS, and Layer 2 networking.
- Advanced multicast design and troubleshooting experience, including PIM and IGMP.
- Experience with WAN, Layer 2, multicast, and ideally SD‑WAN technologies.
- Experience supporting mission‑critical 24x7x365 operations.
- Experience supporting USSOCOM, ISR, DoD, or special operations network environments.
- Experience with Star Shield integration or similar advanced transport/satellite networking capabilities.
- Strong understanding of secure global transport networks and cyber defense integration.
- Experience working across OCONUS or NATO partner environments.
- Up to 25% OCONUS travel required, primarily to Europe, including Amsterdam.
The estimated salary range for this position is $215,000 – $225,000 annually, based on market benchmarks within the Tampa, FL area. This range represents a good faith estimate and may vary depending on several factors, including the scope of the role, geographic location, education, certifications, technical skills, and overall relevant experience.
