The Senior Network Engineer ensures the stability, performance, and security of enterprise network infrastructure. This includes designing, deploying, configuring, monitoring, and optimizing both on-premises and cloud-integrated systems. The role spans LAN, WAN, WLAN, internet/intranet connectivity, and remote access. This position is key in maintaining high availability and supporting both daily operations and long-term strategic growth.

The engineer collaborates with architects and IT teams, leads infrastructure upgrades, cloud integrations, SD-WAN deployments, and firewall migrations. This role also serves as a Tier III escalation point for critical incidents, drives root cause analysis, and implements sustainable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deploy scalable, secure enterprise networks using Meraki wireless, switching, and security tools.
• Manage and monitor LAN/WAN across multiple sites for optimal performance.
• Act as Tier III support for complex network issues and lead root cause investigations.
• Implement infrastructure upgrades and migrations with minimal business disruption.
• Optimize network performance and resolve bottlenecks or vulnerabilities.
• Maintain documentation on network design, configurations, and procedures.
• Configure firewalls, access control, and authentication protocols (e.g., RADIUS, TACACS+, LDAP).
• Evaluate emerging network technologies and recommend solutions.
• Participate in change management, capacity planning, and disaster recovery efforts.
• Support cross-functional technical needs including remote access and network services.
• Stay current on Meraki and industry networking trends.

Qualifications

• Education:
  Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience: 5+ years in enterprise networking with Meraki or similar platforms.

Preferred Certifications

• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
• Meraki CMNA or ECMS1/2
• CompTIA Network+ or Security+

Core Competencies

• Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VPNs, DNS, DHCP
• Proficient in Meraki access points, switches, firewalls
• Strong understanding of identity-based networking and access control
• Experience with cloud-managed networks and monitoring tools
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and time management skills

Additional Skills & Attributes

• Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Asset, Service Management)
• Service-oriented and business-aware mindset
• Effective communicator and cross-functional team player
• Willingness to work with mobile devices and A/V tools
• Availability for on-call support and business-critical operations
