Position: Computer Technician (PT or FT Available)

Griffin IT is a hardware distributor specializing in solutions for MSPs, VARs, and integrators. We provide net 90 consignment equipment, free shipping, software for inventory management, order tracking, online RMA processing with advanced replacements, custom imaging and drop shipping directly to customers. We provide access to equipment, pricing, and product availability not normally seen through traditional distribution. We are solving supply chain issues, increasing margins, and configuring alternative solutions to respond to today’s challenges.

We are also equipped with financing and leasing options to provide flexibility for our customers.

Computer Technician

The Computer Technician plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of computer systems. Responsible for the setup, maintenance, and support of computers, this role requires attention to detail and a commitment to quality. The Computer Technician follows standardized procedures to efficiently unbox, inspect, configure, and clean each computer, ensuring they meet precise standards.

The Computer Technician will work independently and as part of a team. Employees can wear headphones to listen to music or podcasts, helping to maintain focus and productivity while contributing to the company's success.

Job Details

Starting pay: $15-$18/hr

Location: Onsite - 8407 Laurel Fair Circle, Suite 200 Tampa, FL 33610

Hours:

  • Preferred schedule is 7am – 2pm, but we offer flexibility to accommodate varying schedules.
  • Minimum commitment of 20 hours per week, with a preference for full-time availability.
Responsibilities
  • Carefully unbox and inspect computers upon receipt, ensuring they meet our quality standards.
  • Execute precise setups for each machine following our standard operating procedures (SOPs), guaranteeing consistency and efficiency.
  • Utilize detailed checklists to track tasks, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Install operating systems and perform initial configurations on computers, ensuring they are ready for use.
  • Conduct thorough cleaning and sanitization of computers before returning them to storage shelves.
  • Assist with packaging and shipping orders as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks with attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware and software.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to follow SOPs and checklists.
  • Capable of prioritizing tasks and managing workload effectively.
  • Collaborative attitude and willingness to assist colleagues when needed.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively convey information and ideas to team members, and stakeholders.
Education

No diploma or degree required; however, a strong aptitude for technology is preferred.
