Future Operations (FUOPS) Cybersecurity Planner – GDIT
Tasked with overseeing complex programs that drive mission‑critical outcomes for USCENTCOM, this role supports the J63 Plans & Exercises team and ensures effective implementation of cybersecurity orders, policies, procedures, and guidance across the USCENTCOM Area of Responsibility.
Key Responsibilities- Act as a direct interface with military and government leadership, including USCENTCOM and its Service Components, to support J63 Plans and Exercises.
- Facilitate theater‑wide collaboration on cybersecurity orders, policies, procedures, and guidance through meetings, VTCs, email, and other communication methods.
- Distribute and update cybersecurity orders, policies, and procedures to USCENTCOM components.
- Provide cybersecurity support to USCENTCOM AOR Network Operations (NETOPS) Centers as required.
- Interpret, analyze, produce, and execute theater‑wide cybersecurity orders, policies, procedures, and tactics.
- Coordinate and participate in cybersecurity risk analysis, assessments, and scoping missions.
- Review current intelligence for relevant threats and develop appropriate actions and responses.
- Track compliance reporting for USCENTCOM orders and document cybersecurity policies and guidance.
- Participate in mission assurance working groups and conduct mission assurance analysis for J6 networks and missions.
- Plan and coordinate defensive cyber operations for theater defensive cyber forces.
- Analyze and recommend technology deployments to maximize defensive cyber operations effectiveness.
- Develop technology strategies, including evaluations and decision points for J6 leadership.
- Support the command exercise program by developing cyber inputs for exercises and writing cyber annexes to command orders.
- Represent CCJ6 equities during Operational Planning Teams (OPTs), conferences, working groups, and contingency planning actions throughout the USCENTCOM AOR.
- Support coalition interoperability, engagement activities, and cybersecurity cooperation.
- Coordinate with Foreign Military Sales (FMS) technicians for planning and support of CENTCOM Partner Network (CPN) requirements, operations, and expansion.
- U.S. citizenship required (TS/SCI clearance required).
- Active/current Top Secret/SCI clearance.
- 7+years of related experience in cybersecurity operations, exercise planning, or network operations center (NOC) environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent cybersecurity certification.
- DoD 8140 or DoD 8570 certification (preferred).
- Experience with DoD, Service, and Joint Task Force communications policies and procedures.
- Proven ability to plan, integrate, and maintain complex tactical and garrison communications and IT systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft applications and cybersecurity best practices.
- Strong briefing skills for senior military and government leaders, including partner nation experts.
- Familiarity with USCENTCOM operations, AOR, and staff work.
- Ability to function as a current and future operations action officer.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Master’s degree in Communications, Computer Science, Engineering, or related area.
- Experience delivering training to senior military and civilian leaders.
- Familiarity with information platforms such as Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, One Brief, PCTE, Joint Training Program, or Advana.
