Meaningful Work and Personal Impact

As a Database Developer supporting CIS, you will design, build, and optimize enterprise‑scale database solutions that power mission‑critical applications across complex environments. You will engineer robust data pipelines, ensure secure and compliant database operations, and partner with stakeholders to transform data into operationally impactful capabilities. Your work strengthens the reliability, performance, and availability of enterprise data services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engineer and develop database solutions supporting enterprise applications, ensuring performance, scalability, and data integrity
  • Design, build, evaluate, and administer database management systems; optimize data flow, storage, indexing, and collection processes
  • Analyze system requirements, data sources, and process workflows to guide database architecture and implementation
  • Provide IATT and ATO support for new and enhanced database capabilities, and deliver ongoing ATO support to existing solutions as part of workload sharing
  • Collaborate with monitoring teams to integrate database infrastructure visibility into enterprise monitoring tools
  • Implement processes and systems to consolidate, merge, and analyze diverse structured and unstructured datasets
  • Build and maintain data pipelines and ETL workflows to ingest and transform data from multiple sources
  • Assess and recommend tools, technologies, and approaches for database, pipeline, and analytics optimization
  • Partner with stakeholders to transform data requirements into automated processes, integrating algorithms and models where needed
  • Deliver Tier 3 database support through established escalation pathways
  • Provide Tier 2 system administration support when requested to improve workload efficiency and resource utilization
What You’ll Need to Succeed
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph
  • Bachelor’s degree in an IT‑related field, or 12+ years of relevant IT experience in lieu of a degree
  • Meet DoD 8140 Information Assurance Workforce certification requirements (e.g., Security+ CE)
  • Hands‑on experience developing, administering, and optimizing enterprise databases and data pipelines
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, structured/unstructured data handling, and database performance tuning
  • Experience supporting IATT/ATO activities and maintaining compliance of database systems
  • Familiarity with enterprise monitoring integration and database observability practices
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex database issues and support operations teams at Tier 3
  • Strong communication, documentation, and cross‑team collaboration skills

Benefits and Compensation

The likely salary range for this position is $147,292 - $199,278. Salary will be set based on experience, geographic location, and contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
