Responsibilities

Peraton requires Database Administrators to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) - 3 EOM.

This position is located at Mac Dill AFB in Florida.

The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network Operations (Net Ops); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and common device support;

provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365.

This role requires a strong technical foundation and will be responsible for managing complex database environments, ensuring data integrity and availability, optimizing performance, and implementing robust security and compliance measures. This position requires knowledge and experience in major database management systems, such as MariaDB, Oracle, and PostgreSQL, and ability to operate efficiently within RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) environments. Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server is also preferred.

Database Administrator - Tier 3 role demonstrates the ability to pay keen attention to detail, possess a strong customer service orientation and have the ability to work as part of a team.

• Design, install, configure, and maintain secure and scalable database systems (MariaDB, Oracle, PostgreSQL) in on‑premises and cloud environments.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot high availability/disaster recovery solutions such as clustering, replication, logical/physical standby configurations, and other platform‑specific redundancy mechanisms.
• Experience in DBMS performance optimization and ability to identify and resolve performance issues.
• Deep understanding of DBMS security and ability to implement and maintain administrative and technical controls.
• Work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with other administrators, engineers, and stakeholders across multiple time zones.
• Strong communication skills and ability to convey technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences; communicates effectively both orally and in writing.
• Analyze complex problems and develop innovative solutions to meet the needs of the organization in cloud and on‑premises environments.
• Continuous learning mindset; comfortable adapting to new technologies and best practices in cloud and on‑premise environments.
• Preferred skills: experience with DBMS supporting technologies such as Red Hat Identity Management, Active Directory/Entra , DNS, PKI, Kerberos, and automation.
• Experience with IT service management practices and deep understanding of DBMS architecture and best practices; familiarity with government and industry security standards such as STIGs.

Requirements:

• Minimum 16 years with HS degree, 14 years with AS/AA degree, 12 years with BS/BA, 10 years with MS/MA, 7 years with a PhD.
• DoD 8570 IAT II Certification.
• DoD TS/SCI clearance.

Highly Desired:

• MariaDB Certified Database Administrator OR Oracle Certified Professional OR Azure Database Administrator Associate.

$104,000 - $166,000. Salary is determined by factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonus.
