Position: CYBER SECURITY ENGINEER

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Cyber Security Engineer to join our team. In this role, the employee will play a key part in preventing cybercrime by leveraging expertise and analytics to monitor data at all contact points, detect malware and ransomware incidents, and recommend solutions for addressing any vulnerabilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cybersecurity standards and certifications, along with extensive knowledge of cybercriminal tactics.

Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain security controls and monitoring throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Develop automated security processes and tools to detect and prevent vulnerabilities in CI/CD pipelines.
  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and ensure timely remediation of findings.
  • Protect all company data, especially sensitive information, from internal and external threats by creating comprehensive defenses against potential intruders.
  • Take charge of daily monitoring for unusual activities, implementing defensive measures, and reporting security incidents.
  • Work closely with the cybersecurity team to develop new protocols, additional layers of protection, and other proactive systems to stay ahead of cybercriminals.
  • Keep documentation up-to-date for security guidelines, procedures, standards, and controls.
  • Stay informed about the latest cybercrime tactics.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, or GDPR.
  • Design and implement strategies to improve the availability, reliability, and performance of critical systems and applications.
  • Develop and maintain robust monitoring systems to detect issues proactively and optimize alerting mechanisms to ensure timely response.
  • Conduct thorough failure analysis and implement fault tolerant systems to minimize the impact of potential failures.
  • Work closely with software engineering, Dev Ops, and infrastructure teams to design reliable architecture and improve operational workflows.
  • Regularly evaluate current processes and systems, identifying areas for improvement and implementing enhancements.
Required Skills/Qualifications/Duty Experience
  • Proficiency in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git Lab, Git Hub Actions, or CircleCI.
  • Three to five years of experience in cybersecurity at a midsize or large company in our industry.
  • Deep knowledge of IT, including hardware, software, and networks.
  • Meticulous eye for detail and an ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong abilities in critical thinking, problem‑solving, logic, and forensics.
  • Knowledge of security tools like SAST, DAST, vulnerability scanners, and SIEM solutions.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.) and automation frameworks.
  • In depth knowledge of application security principles, OWASP Top 10, and threat modeling.
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and associated reliability tools.
  • Hands‑on experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Splunk, or ELK stack.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, fault tolerant design, and high availability architectures.
  • Experience in root cause analysis and implementing systemic improvements.
Preferred
  • Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Security, CISSP, CEH, or Certified Dev Sec Ops  Professional.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible, Cloud Formation).
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance (e.g., PCI DSS, HIPAA).
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in information systems, information technology, or related field.
  • Ability to work successfully in both individual and team settings.
  • Ability to think like a hacker in order to stay ahead of threats.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
Security Requirements

Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI clearance at time of hire.

Education/Certification Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, or a related technical discipline; or the equivalent.

Travel

Ability to travel as needed, estimate less than 25%.
