Data Systems Administrator – Tampa, FL
Job ObjectiveUnder a five-year contract, the Data Systems Administrator will support the United States Marine Corps Forces, Central Command (MARCENT) and subordinate commands. The scope includes professional services for MARCENT located aboard Mac Dill Air Force Base (AFB), Florida, which serves as a Component Command to U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM). Specifically, the Data Systems Administrator will support the Communication Directorate (G‑6) within the continental United States (CONUS) and outside the continental United States (OCONUS).
The G‑6 provides communication support to MARCENT as well as command, control, communications, and computer (C4) policy advocacy to CENTCOM Communications (CCJ6) and HQMC agencies, conducting C4 planning and validation for USMC forces operating in the CENTCOM AOR.
- Provide system management/administrator support for MARCENT CLASSIFIED and UNCLASSIFIED data services.
- Define, improve, and promote architecture and standards based on Information Technology IT Library (ITIL) best practices.
- Assist in developing and maintaining mature security procedures.
- Provide senior-level guidance on performing functionality, performance, and security audits; generate detailed executive reports outlining risk and provide technology recommendations.
- Document and monitor server operation, performance, and capacity.
- Maintain and be accountable for the direct support of CLASSIFIED and UNCLASSIFIED command services.
- Design, document, and write deliverable plans for complex implementations.
- Write and maintain system documentation, standard operating procedures (SOP), and desktop procedures.
- Ensure services are provided from 0600 to 1800 Monday through Friday (excluding Federal Holidays and maintenance schedule hours) and, when required, be available for after-core-hours consultation and recall.
- Account for system maintenance schedule every Thursday from 1900 to 2300.
Minimum Qualifications Summary
- Must possess a current US Passport with ability to travel and work overseas.
- Must be able to meet COMSEC briefing and Local Element management certification requirements available under the OPNAVINST 2201.4, DoD Instruction 8523.01 and Air Force Manual 17-1301.
- Current DoD IAT certification Level 1 or above or SEC+, NET+ certified, Voice/Video Network Certification and qualified on VmWare virtual server and desktop management preferably CISCO certified.
- Must possess a SECRET Security Clearance.

Prior experience and operational knowledge of architecture and standards based on ITIL best practices. - Preferred:

Prior experience and operational knowledge of server operation, performance, and capacity. - Five years’ military experience.

MARCENT, Mac Dill Air Force Base, Tampa, Florida. Contractor personnel must support the projected travel in support of government requirements to MARCENT AOR and supporting locations, including Bahrain, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, France, Germany, United Kingdom, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Iraq, Israel, Afghanistan, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Djibouti, Cyprus, Turkey, Italy, and Greece.
The ideal candidate will be available for travel on less than 24‑hour notice to support personnel recovery and training for forward‑deployed forces and must be able to execute OCONUS travel throughout the Central Command (CENTCOM) AOR.
