Senior Data Power / Managed File Transfer (MFT) Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Power / Managed File Transfer (MFT) Engineer responsible for engineering, supporting, securing, automating, and modernizing enterprise file transfer platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with IBM Data Power, IBM Connect:
Direct (NDM), AWS Transfer Family, and enterprise MFT solutions.
The candidate will support mission-critical file transfer services, secure integrations, client onboarding, production support, automation initiatives, and platform modernization efforts.
Key Responsibilities:- Engineer, implement, maintain, and support enterprise Managed File Transfer (MFT) platforms.
- Provide administration and support for IBM Data Power (SFTP Gateway), IBM Connect:
Direct (NDM), and AWS Transfer Family. - Design and implement secure file transfer solutions and connectivity patterns.
- Support client onboarding, integration activities, and production readiness reviews.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive platform stability improvements.
- Execute platform upgrades, patching, capacity planning, disaster recovery, and resiliency testing.
- Ensure compliance with security controls, encryption standards, and certificate/key management processes.
- Develop automation solutions using scripting, Ansible, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
- Implement monitoring, logging, observability, and SIEM integrations.
- Support cloud adoption and modernization initiatives for MFT platforms.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures.
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and leadership to engineering teams.
- 8–10 years of experience in enterprise Managed File Transfer engineering.
- 6+ years of hands-on experience with:
- IBM Data Power (SFTP Gateway)
- IBM Connect:
Direct (NDM) - AWS Transfer Family
- Strong experience with:
- Linux administration
- Shell scripting / automation
- Encryption, certificates, and key management
- Secure file transfer protocols (SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS)
- Cloud integrations and hybrid architectures
- Monitoring, logging, and SIEM tools
- Experience with:
- Ansible automation
- CI/CD pipelines
- Infrastructure-as-Code concepts
- High availability and disaster recovery solutions
- Enterprise security and compliance standards
Skills:
- IBM Cloud experience
- Experience supporting highly available enterprise MFT platforms
- Knowledge of cloud-native architectures
- Experience with automation frameworks and platform modernization initiatives
