As a Swahili Linguist – Social Media Analyst, you will be a key differentiator. Our work depends on a Swahili‑fluent specialist joining our team to support a social media program by leveraging native language expertise and regional knowledge, supporting a program in Tampa, FL.
HOW A SWAHILI LINGUIST – SOCIAL MEDIA ANALYST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Serves as a natively fluent Swahili specialist supporting a social media program and drawing upon publicly available online information resources.
Develops and maintains expertise with designated regional issues and applies cultural and linguistic knowledge to enhance mission understanding.
Reads, analyzes, and drafts communications regarding regional and ideological discussions within specified foreign‑language media environments.
Examines current media statements and postings to support trend analysis and identifies key communicators across online ecosystems.
Demonstrates reading and writing expertise in the assigned language and incorporates custom social media solutions to comprehend online environments and communicate trends effectively.
Supports operations planning by applying regional insights and linguistic expertise.
Demonstrates working knowledge of online social media platforms and technologies relevant to monitoring, analysis, and reporting.
Documents activities, analytical notes, informative papers, and whitepapers in English, ensuring accuracy and clarity for multiple audiences.
Ability to work nonstandard hours and remain on‑call for periods of time as mission requirements dictate.
Some travel may be required.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree required; experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
Experience:
3+ years of related experience required.
Security clearance level:
Minimum DoW Secret clearance required; select positions require TS/SCI. Select candidates will be language‑tested.
Skills and abilities:
Native or near‑native Swahili fluency; strong written communication skills in both Swahili and English; familiarity with social media platforms, online communities, and digital communication trends; ability to perform foreign‑language media analysis; ability to work nonstandard hours and on‑call; some travel required.
Location:
Customer Site (Tampa, FL).
