Sirius Staffing is seeking a Senior Data Analyst for a 6-month contract opportunity in Tampa, FL. This role will support the delivery and ongoing use of data, analytics, and artificial intelligence solutions by translating business needs into reliable data products, actionable insights, dashboards, and decision-support tools.

The Senior Data Analyst will independently prepare, analyze, validate, and visualize complex datasets while developing and maintaining business intelligence solutions. This position will also play an important role in strengthening data quality and governance and will partner closely with business and technology stakeholders throughout the solution lifecycle.

The ideal candidate has strong experience with Power BI, Excel, SQL, data visualization, and complex data analysis, along with the ability to translate technical findings into clear business insights.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare, integrate, cleanse, validate, and analyze complex datasets for reports, dashboards, analytics products, and AI-enabled solutions.
Design, build, enhance, and maintain business intelligence reports and dashboards using Microsoft Power BI and Excel.
Translate business questions into analytical approaches, measures, data requirements, and actionable findings.
Perform exploratory data analysis and develop visualizations to support solution design, prototyping, and feasibility assessments.
Gather and document business and data requirements.
Support data validation, user acceptance testing (UAT), deployment readiness, and post-implementation adoption.
Monitor data quality and investigate errors, inconsistencies, and anomalies.
Perform root-cause analysis and coordinate corrective actions with data owners and technical teams.
Support data governance by documenting key data fields, calculations, terminology, lineage, controls, and business processes.
Partner with business and technology stakeholders to prioritize analytical needs and deliver practical insights.
Independently manage reporting and analytical projects from requirements through validation, delivery, and ongoing support.
Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, automation, data quality, and decision support.
Provide technical guidance, peer review, knowledge sharing, and mentoring to less-experienced analysts.
Participate in cross-functional projects and serve as a resource for assigned data domains and analytics solutions.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related technical/STEM field.
2-5 years of progressively responsible experience in data analysis, business intelligence, reporting, data visualization, or a related analytical role.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify patterns, investigate anomalies, and assess data quality.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
Experience developing business intelligence reports and dashboards using Microsoft Power BI or a similar BI platform.
Working knowledge of SQL and relational data concepts, including the ability to query, join, validate, and reconcile data from multiple sources.
Experience defining measures, calculations, data requirements, and acceptance criteria.
Ability to communicate complex data and technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently within established deadlines.
Strong collaboration, communication, and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting enterprise analytics or large and complex datasets.
Experience with in utility operations or technology transformation programs.
Experience with Snowflake.
Experience with Python.
Exposure to machine learning, artificial intelligence, or AI-enabled data solutions.
Knowledge of data governance, data quality, privacy, security, and responsible use of data and AI.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Experience with requirements gathering, testing, change readiness, and solution adoption.
Relevant certifications or training in data analytics, Power BI, SQL, Python, cloud data platforms, or data visualization.
Advanced coursework or a graduate degree in a related technical or analytical discipline.
