We are seeking an experienced Systems Administrator – Infrastructure to support a large, mission-critical public-sector technology environment in the Tampa area. This individual will be responsible for the administration, reliability, security, and availability of enterprise infrastructure supporting 24/7 operations. The environment includes Windows and Linux systems, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Azure/Entra , VMware technologies, cloud infrastructure, enterprise storage, backup and disaster recovery technologies, and security platforms.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on infrastructure professional who can independently troubleshoot complex issues, take ownership of systems and projects, and work effectively across both traditional on-premises and cloud environments.
Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) experience is required. Candidates should also have strong experience in at least one of the following two areas, in addition to Red Hat/Linux: VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) / VMware enterprise infrastructure Enterprise storage architecture or administration Candidates qualifying through the storage area should have true hands-on enterprise storage experience. This should include experience performing tasks such as building and configuring volumes or LUNs on an enterprise storage array and presenting or mapping that storage to hosts.
Experience limited primarily to small-business or prosumer NAS platforms, such as Synology, would not meet the enterprise storage requirement.
- Administer and support enterprise Linux environments, with a strong emphasis on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
- Install, configure, troubleshoot, patch, upgrade, and maintain Linux and Windows servers and supporting infrastructure.
- Administer VMware virtual environments, including VMware vSphere/ESXi and related VMware technologies.
- Support VMware Cloud Foundation environments where applicable.
- Administer Microsoft Active Directory, including Group Policy, organizational units, permissions, auditing, backup, and recovery.
- Administer Microsoft Entra Identity and Access Management (IAM) technologies.
- Maintain and support Microsoft 365 and enterprise email environments.
- Provide administration and operational support for Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure.
- Configure and support AWS and other cloud environments as required.
- Administer enterprise storage environments, including SAN, NFS, Fibre Channel, storage arrays, volumes, and LUNs.
- Provision and present enterprise storage to physical and virtual hosts.
- Support enterprise SAN fabric and storage connectivity environments.
- Support enterprise backup, recovery, and disaster recovery technologies.
- Administer enterprise security technologies, including SIEM, endpoint protection, anti-virus/anti-malware, and Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms.
- Monitor infrastructure availability, utilization, performance, and capacity using enterprise monitoring tools.
- Perform routine security audits, compliance reviews, and vulnerability scans.
- Create and maintain scripts to automate system administration and operational tasks.
- Create and manage Group Policy Objects (GPOs).
- Perform root-cause analysis for major incidents and recurring infrastructure problems.
- Build and deploy software packages using enterprise software distribution tools.
- Maintain accurate physical and virtual hardware/software inventories.
