** Risk Management & Insurance Intern
** to join our team in Tampa, FL.Orchid’s Operations Team is excited to announce our 6-week summer internship program, designed to nurture the next generation of risk management professionals. This immersive experience offers talented students, whether pursuing one’s undergraduate or master’s degree, exposure to how our insurance products compete and perform in the marketplace. Our interns will receive hands-on training and support from our leaders and company mentors, will support the day-to-day operations of their divisions, and may have the opportunity to work on various project teams.
** How You Will Contribute:
**** Program Overview:
*** Week 1:
Program Overview & Product Development – Overview of our business, MGA, and how it fits into the larger insurance market. Understand the lifecycle of insurance products from conception to market launch.
* Week 2:
Service Operations - Learn the fundamentals of policy management and customer service excellence.
* Week 3 - 4:
Underwriting - Gain insights into risk assessment, policy pricing, and the underwriting decision-making process.
* Week 5:
Sales/Marketing - Discover strategies for effective marketing and sales, focusing on building relationships with brokers and clients
* Week 6:
Prepare and share what you learned with our Leadership Team.
** Skills & Experience to Be Successful:
**** We are seeking candidates who:
*** Are interested in pursuing a career in risk management, insurance, underwriting, or related field.
* Possess strong mathematical and analytical skills.
* Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication.
* Exhibit intellectual curiosity and thrive as adaptable team players.
* Are self-motivated with strong time-management skills.
* Are proficient with Microsoft Office.

* Education:

** Working towards bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, finance, risk management and insurance, economics, mathematics, or data analytics. (Sophomore year or greater)
