DutiesThe United States Attorney's Office, Middle District of Florida (MDFL), is seeking to hire one Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) responsible for investigating and prosecuting cases involving illegal immigration, illegal trafficking of dangerous drugs and human beings, violent crime, and Cartels and Transnational Criminal Organizations designated as Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs) and Specially Designated Global Terrorists (SDGTs). Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
The MDFL is headquartered in Tampa and has branch offices in Orlando, Jacksonville, Fort Myers and Ocala. This position will be filled in any of the following two (2) locations:
Orlando or Tampa.

This is a temporary appointment not-to-exceed 03/31/2028. This position may be extended or made permanent without further competition.
Security RequirementsInitial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory preemployment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. In addition, continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation.
Residency RequirementsAssistant United States Attorneys generally must reside in the district to which he or she is appointed or within 25 miles thereof. See 28 U.S.C. 545 for district-specific information.
Selective ServiceIf you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, you must certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System, or are exempt from having to do so under the Selective Service Law. See .
Requirements- You must be a United States Citizen or National.
