Law​/Legal Associate, Tax Law

Tampa - Tax Associate (3+ years) - Gunster – Florida’s Law Firm for Business, is seeking an exceptional tax associate to join the Tax Practice Group in its growing Tampa office. Tax LL.M. and/or CPA preferred. Gunster's tax group is involved in a dynamic and sophisticated practice. Large firm experience, top academics, and Florida Bar admission preferred (with such admission ultimately required).

The successful candidate will, among other work, be involved with:

• Income and entity taxation research and analysis for transactions, including taxation of owners and executives
• Taxation of real estate transactions (purchase, sale, lease, 1031 exchanges)
• Entity formation and governance, selection, tax elections and related federal tax filings
• Preparation of transaction documents for seller- and buyer-side transactions
• Coordination with IRS and state taxing authorities
• Conducting income and excise tax research on complex issues for entities and owners
• Performing choice of entity analysis, including tax options and impacts
• Assessing transactions for tax issues and compliance with state and federal laws

Gunster's Tax Practice is Chambers rated.

Tax LL.M. required. Candidate must be – or must become – a member of the Florida Bar. Relocation assistance to Florida.
