Position Overview

The Creditors' Rights Legal Assistant plays a critical role in supporting attorneys and ensuring smooth case management from intake through billing. The ideal candidate has strong federal and Bankruptcy court filing experience, exceptional organizational skills, and a commitment to outstanding client service.

Essential Responsibilities

Collaborate with firm-wide departments to manage case opening, conflict checks, billing, records, and training coordination
File pleadings in federal and Bankruptcy courts, ensuring compliance with all applicable Rules of Procedure and court requirements
Draft, proofread and finalize correspondence, pleadings, and legal documents
Track firm, attorney, and client expenses; process reimbursements and payments
Support client billing processes, including:
Assisting attorneys with time entry narratives
Tracking billable tasks and edits
Delivering invoices electronically and in paper format
Schedule court hearings in accordance with court requirements
Calculate and track litigation deadlines
Coordinate and schedule client appointments
Maintain and organize electronic and paper case files
Handle incoming and outgoing mail and correspondence
Answer, screen, and place telephone calls and emails

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of law firm experience, preferably in Creditors' Rights
Experience supporting multiple attorneys required
Strong knowledge of federal and Bankruptcy court filing procedures
Familiarity with billing software and expense tracking systems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
