Job Title: Insurance Defense Paralegal – Construction Defect

Location: Tampa, FL (Onsite/Hybrid – based on firm policy)

Salary Range: $75,000 – $80,000 annually

Experience Required: 3+ Years

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Paralegal with a strong background in construction defect litigation to support our Tampa office. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience supporting attorneys through all phases of insurance defense litigation, including case management, discovery, trial preparation, and client reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys in handling construction defect insurance defense cases from inception through trial.
• Draft and prepare legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and subpoenas.
• Manage case files, maintain litigation calendars, and track deadlines.
• Coordinate and review document productions and discovery materials.
• Summarize depositions, medical records, and construction-related records.
• Communicate with clients, carriers, experts, and opposing counsel as needed.
• Prepare trial binders, exhibits, and witness files.
• Support attorneys during mediations, hearings, and trials.
• Maintain billing time entries and assist with case reporting to insurance carriers.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of Insurance Defense Paralegal experience.
• Strong experience handling construction defect litigation matters.
• Knowledge of state and federal court filing procedures.
• Experience with litigation management software and e-filing systems.
• Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced litigation environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Paralegal Certificate or Associate/Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Experience working with insurance carriers and adjusters.
• Trial preparation experience.
• Familiarity with construction terminology, project documentation, and defect claims.
