Job Overview
Burr & Forman is seeking an intellectual property associate with three to five years of patent experience. The primary focus of the position is patent preparation and prosecution, with opportunity to work on a wide variety of intellectual property matters. Ideally, the role will be located in the Charlotte, NC office, but the Atlanta, GA or Tampa, FL office will be considered.
Qualifications- J.D. degree
- Membership in the applicable state bar
- Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
- Undergraduate degree in science or engineering
- Preference for a degree in electrical engineering with experience in telecommunications, integrated circuits, or related technologies
- Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
- Superior investigative and problem‑resolution skills
- Technical and analytical skills necessary to conduct complex, detailed analysis of patent‑related matters
- Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with a diverse group of individuals
