Bodily Injury Defense Attorney | Tampa, FL | $150,000 to $220,000 (DOE) | Bodily Injury / General Liability Litigation
If you're a BI specialist wondering whether the grass is greener somewhere else, I want you to ask yourself one question first. Are you actually unhappy with the work, or are you just unhappy with the firm you're doing it in?
Because here's what I keep hearing from BI attorneys across Tampa. The work itself is fine. It's the politics, the empty promises about flexibility, and the feeling that nobody above you actually has your back that wears people down.
This firm is different, and I don't say that lightly. People stay. Genuinely stay. When someone does leave, and it doesn't happen often, they usually call me a year later to tell me it was the best firm they've ever worked at and they wish they'd stayed. That's not a sentence I hear often in this market.
What the role actually looks like:
- Full bodily injury caseload from intake through trial, working directly with adjusters and defense counsel on meaningful litigation, not just churning discovery
- Genuine hybrid schedule that's actually followed day to day, not just written into the offer letter
- A senior team that mentors rather than monitors, with partners who are still hands on in the cases
- Clear route to senior associate and partner track, with the firm actively promoting from within rather than hiring over people
- Manageable caseload standards that let you do the work properly instead of just moving files
What they need from you:
- 5 to 10 years+ of insurance defense experience with a genuine bodily injury specialism, not a general litigator looking to pivot into BI
- Florida Bar admission in good standing
- Strong deposition and trial experience, comfortable running your own file end to end
- Someone who wants to build a career here, not just take the next rung on a ladder
I'll be straight with you. This firm doesn't have a huge amount of turnover to draw candidates from, so when a BI seat opens up here it's worth paying attention to.
