What You’ll Do- Determine the make and type of product needed.
- Discuss use and features of various parts.
- Research replacement part stock number and price.
- Fill customer orders from stock.
- Place special orders and branch transfers for non‑stock orders or backorders.
- Receive payment or obtain credit authorization.
- Advise customers on substitution or modification of part when a replacement is not available.
- Receive and fill telephone orders.
- Assist customers with gathering their material and loading the material in their vehicle.
- Make proactive telephone calls to potential new customers and existing customers.
- Greet customers in a timely, professional, and courteous manner.
- Maintain a professional appearance.
- Maintain a clean work area.
- Operate computers to order, enter, and retrieve data.
- Sort and place material or items on racks, shelves, or in bins.
- Construct orders based on delivery area to prevent stock from being damaged on delivery.
- Box up and label material.
- Examine returned part to determine if defective, and exchange part or refund money.
- Assist in organizing counter; verify correct quantities and items for all sections.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- One year or more related customer service–oriented experience.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong math and reading skills.
- Forklift certification preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) in the South Florida region.
- Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and slide packages that typically weigh up to 50 lbs.
- Frequently requires standing, walking, bending, climbing, reaching with arms, and constant use of hands.
- Ability to stand on feet for majority of an 8‑hour day.
- Continuous mental and visual alertness to maintain safety and achieve accuracy.
- Requires flexibility and mobility in body movements.
- Occasionally may be required to lift items greater than 50 lbs. with assistance.
