We are seeking an experienced Buyer to join our growing team in Tampa, FL. This is a fully onsite position responsible for sourcing materials, managing supplier relationships, negotiating pricing, and ensuring timely procurement to support manufacturing and operational objectives. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast‑paced environment while balancing cost, quality, and delivery requirements.
Responsibilities- Manage the procurement of raw materials, components, and indirect supplies to support production and business operations.
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, favorable terms, and reliable delivery schedules.
- Issue purchase orders and monitor order status to ensure on‑time delivery and inventory availability.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers while evaluating performance related to cost, quality, and service.
- Collaborate with Production, Planning, Engineering, Inventory, and Operations to forecast purchasing needs and resolve supply issues.
- Analyze inventory levels and purchasing trends to optimize inventory while minimizing excess and shortages.
- Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Identify cost‑saving opportunities through strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and process improvements.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and vendor information within the ERP system.
- Support new product launches by sourcing materials and coordinating supplier readiness.
- Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and quality standards.
- Prepare purchasing reports, supplier scorecards, and spend analysis for leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of purchasing or buying experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environment.
- Experience negotiating pricing, contracts, and supplier agreements.
- Strong understanding of inventory management, procurement processes, and supply chain operations.
- Experience utilizing ERP or MRP systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment.
- Experience purchasing for a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of inventory planning, demand forecasting, and supplier performance management.
- APICS/CPIM, CPSM, or other supply chain certification is a plus.
