Position Overview

UDC is seeking an experienced Director of Supply Chain to lead and optimize supply chain operations supporting our defense manufacturing and production programs, including munitions, weapon systems, and hazardous materials.

Reporting directly to the CEO, this position will provide strategic and operational leadership across procurement, supplier management, materials planning, inventory management, logistics, transportation, and supply chain compliance. The Director will partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Program Management, Contracts, Finance, and executive leadership to ensure material availability, supplier performance, regulatory compliance, cost effectiveness, and on-time program execution.

The successful candidate will bring significant defense-manufacturing supply chain experience, strong commercial and supplier-negotiation capabilities, and a demonstrated ability to build resilient supply chains in highly regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities Supply Chain Strategy & Leadership
  • Develop and execute the company’s overall supply chain strategy in alignment with business, operational, and program objectives.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing supply chain organization, including talent development, performance management, succession planning, and organizational capability building.
  • Establish supply chain policies, processes, controls, and best practices that support operational excellence and regulatory compliance.
  • Partner with executive leadership to identify supply chain risks, opportunities, capacity constraints, and strategic sourcing priorities.
  • Provide executive-level reporting regarding supply chain performance, risks, cost opportunities, and corrective actions.
  • Drive technology adoption, process automation, and digital transformation to improve supply chain visibility, traceability, and efficiency.
Supplier & Procurement Management
  • Develop and execute procurement and sourcing strategies that ensure materials and components meet program specifications, quality standards, cost objectives, and delivery requirements.
