Procurement Specialist
The position requires the incumbent to research and select vendors to solicit quotes and issue purchase order of medium dollar value and complexity supporting USG and Non USG contracts. Typical procurements relate to less complex build-to-print assemblies that require specifications and drawings and COTS software licenses.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Discuss price, delivery and vendor/supplier capability with internal customers
- Researches and identifies potential vendors/suppliers
- Negotiates price and delivery for responsible commodities
- Administrates and maintains purchase orders in compliance with approved procedures
- Establishes and maintains good vendor relationships and satisfies internal customers
- Experience with purchase order file documentation that is fully compliant with all required elements to maintain a successful Contractor Purchasing Systems Review (CPSR)
- Partners with Supplier Quality and Shipping/Receiving as it relates to poor quality, order in consistences and damaged products
- Ability to complete moderately complex price analysis
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- High school diploma and 3–5 years experience; or BA/BS Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Operation Management or related field.
- Must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.
Security Responsibilities
Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.
Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.
Work Environment
Work is performed in a controlled environment with almost no exposure to disagreeable environment conditions.
Physical Demands
- May be required to sit down for long lengths of time.
- May be required to climb stairs
