Senior Accounting Manager

We are partnering with a rapidly growing, private equity-backed organization seeking a hands-on accounting leader to support and scale the financial operations of a key business region.

This role sits at the intersection of operational execution and strategic insight. You will partner closely with regional leadership and executive stakeholders to strengthen infrastructure, improve reporting, and support continued growth and operational sophistication.

• Lead and oversee all regional accounting operations and financial activity
• Manage and improve the monthly close process to ensure timely, accurate reporting
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial reconciliations and reporting
• Deliver complete and accurate financial statements
• Partner directly with operations leaders to interpret financial results and drive performance
• Build and enhance internal controls and scalable accounting processes
• Support audit preparation and external reporting requirements
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and multi-state sales tax regulations
• Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with leadership
• Analyze budget variances and provide actionable insights
• Develop KPI reporting and performance benchmarks
• Identify opportunities for automation, efficiency, and system improvements
• Recruit, mentor, and develop accounting team members (3-4 staff)

This is not a maintenance role- this is a build-and-elevate role.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
• 5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in growth-oriented or multi-entity environments
• Experience leading teams or mentoring developing staff
• Strong understanding of GAAP and internal control environments
• Experience supporting audits and working in controlled environments
• Advanced Excel and accounting system proficiency
• Comfortable working with large data sets and deadline-driven reporting cycles
• Ability to operate in evolving structures and changing priorities
• Experience in private equity-backed, acquisitive, or fast-scaling environments is highly valued.
• Military service may be considered in lieu of certain education or certification requirements.
