Vice President of Product Program

Job Accountabilities

The Vice President of Product Program provides overall leadership, strategic direction and cross-functional coordination for the planning, organization, and execution of council product program strategies and campaigns that support girls, parents and volunteers. This role serves as the program owner for the Girl Scout Cookie Program and Girl Scout Fall Product Program, ensuring successful execution through collaboration with finance, membership, marketing, operations, and external vendors.

The VP leads and aligns cross-functional teams responsible for program, member engagement, marketing, logistics, inventory management, rewards, financial reconciliation, training, and booths. The incumbent is accountable for achieving financial, participation, and membership-related goals while ensuring, through collaboration, that the program delivers high-quality learning experiences centered on the 5 Skills for Girls.

Essential Functions Strategic Leadership & Program Oversight
  • Establishes long-range goals, objectives and strategies for council product programs aligned with membership growth and financial sustainability.
  • Owns overall program performance and results, monitoring KPIs and adjusting strategy as needed to meet council goals.
  • Develops and oversees the annual operating budget for product programs in partnership with the COO and finance team.
  • Represents the council in product program conferences and product forums to identify and implement emerging best practices.
  • Leads structured feedback systems to gather insights from girls, volunteers, caregivers and customers to incorporate findings into future planning.
Cross-Functional Project Leadership & Execution
  • Develops and manages an integrated execution plan that outlines responsibilities, timelines, and deliverables across departments and vendor partners.
  • Leads cross-functional planning meetings to align girl program, camps, customer care, logistics, marketing, finance, membership, and operations teams around program timelines and milestones.
  • Oversees vendor relationships and participates in negotiations alongside executive leadership.
  • Ensures systems are in place for:
  • Timely ordering and distribution of product and materials
  • Inventory management and tracking
  • Financial reconciliation and troop account balancing
  • Risk management and safety compliance
  • Delegates operational execution to appropriate team members while maintaining accountability for outcomes.
  • Monitors cookie inventory levels during active season and coordinates with operations/finance to resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensures accurate reporting and data integrity related to product sales performance.
  • Oversees fund collection processes and escalation of delinquent accounts in partnership with finance.
  • Provides executive-level updates to the COO and executive team, escalating sensitive issues as appropriate.
  • Analyzes regional sales and demographic data to identify geographic gaps and strategically expand cookie booth placement aligned with customer demand and population trends.
  • Leads and oversees a year-round cookie booth relationship management team responsible for site acquisition, partner stewardship, and ongoing community engagement.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Partners with COO and Membership leadership to align product program goals with recruitment and retention strategies.
  • Collaborates with Marketing & Communications to develop cohesive promotional campaigns and messaging for volunteers, girls and general customers.
  • Provides leadership and direction to service unit product program managers, ensuring clear expectations, training systems, and support structures.
