SCOPE: The Director of Training & Development is a strategic leader responsible for designing, implementing, and advancing a company-wide learning and development culture across a multi-state real estate organization. This role ensures employees at all levels—from property teams to corporate leadership—have access to innovative, career-aligned development opportunities that strengthen performance, engagement, and succession readiness.

The Director will create state-of-the-art training experiences that support diverse career pathways, enhance leadership pipelines, and position the organization as an employer of choice through continuous learning.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities Learning Strategy & Culture Development
  • Establish and lead a long-term Learning & Development strategy aligned with organizational growth, business priorities, and talent needs.
  • Build a culture of continuous learning that supports both on-site property staff and remote corporate teams.
  • Serve as an internal thought leader on workforce development, adult learning, and future-ready skill building.
Career Pathways & Professional Development
  • Design structured development frameworks for varying career paths including:
    • Property Management
    • Maintenance & Facilities
    • Corporate Operations – Accounting, Finance, Asset Management, HR
    • Leadership Development
  • Create clear competency models and development roadmaps that support internal mobility and retention.
Succession Planning & Leadership Development
  • Partner with executive leadership and HR to identify critical roles and develop succession pipelines.
  • Design and deliver leadership development programs for emerging leaders, managers, and senior executives.
  • Implement coaching, mentoring, and high-potential development initiatives.
Training Program Design & Delivery
  • Oversee the creation of modern, engaging training experiences using a blend of:
    • Instructor-led learning
    • Virtual training
    • On-demand digital content
    • Microlearning
    • Simulation-based training
  • Ensure training is scalable, consistent, and tailored to field-based real estate operations.
Learning Technology & Innovation
  • Lead implementation and optimization of learning platforms (LMS, LXP, mobile learning tools).
  • Introduce innovative learning methods such as gamification, AI-driven learning paths, and interactive content.
  • Monitor industry trends and benchmark best practices in real estate and service-based industries.
Performance Support & Compliance Training
  • Ensure training supports operational excellence, customer service, safety, and regulatory compliance across multiple states.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop training for policies, fair housing, leasing standards, and workplace safety.
Measurement & Impact
  • Establish metrics to evaluate training effectiveness, engagement, ROI, and business outcomes.
  • Use data and feedback to continuously improve learning programs and employee development experiences.
  • Report progress and strategic insights to senior leadership.
Qualifications Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in training, talent development, or organizational development leadership.
  • Experience in real estate, property management, hospitality, or multi-site operations strongly preferred.
  • Expertise in adult learning principles and instructional design.
