Position Summary

The Vice President – Construction & Operations (Low Voltage) is a senior executive responsible for full operational and financial leadership of the Low Voltage organization. This role combines hands-on construction oversight with enterprise-level operational strategy and P&L accountability.

The VP will oversee all phases of low voltage construction, while building scalable systems, driving profitability, strengthening leadership infrastructure, and partnering with executive leadership on long-term growth strategy.

This position requires a leader who can operate both strategically and tactically capable of optimizing daily execution while scaling the division for sustained expansion.

Core Responsibilities
  • Executive Leadership & Strategy
    • Lead and execute the strategic vision for the Low Voltage division.
    • Partner with the CEO to align operational performance with long-term business objectives.
    • Identify and pursue market expansion opportunities, new verticals, and service line growth.
    • Build scalable operational infrastructure to support geographic and revenue growth.
    • Drive innovation and continuous improvement across operations.
  • Full P&L Ownership
    • Own full-division P&L include revenue growth, gross margin and backlog performance.
    • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, WIP reporting, and cost-to-complete accuracy.
    • Implement cost controls.
    • Monitor financial KPIs and implement corrective strategies where needed.
    • Approve major bids, pricing strategies, and change orders.
  • Construction & Project Oversight
    • Oversee all low voltage construction projects from design through close-out
      .
    • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
    • Lead planning, scheduling, procurement, manpower allocation, and quality control.
    • Ensure compliance with OSHA, and industry standards.
    • Establish governance models and standardized project execution frameworks.
  • Operational Infrastructure & Process Standardization
    • Establish KPI dashboards to drive accountability and transparency.
    • Improve forecasting accuracy and backlog conversion.
    • Strengthen cross-functional coordination between operations, estimating, and finance.
  • Team & Organizational Development
    • Lead and mentor Project Managers, Estimators, and Field Technicians.
    • Evaluate organizational structure and optimize team alignment.
    • Recruit, develop, and retain top managerial talent.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, collaboration, and performance excellence.
    • Serve as executive point of contact for key clients and strategic accounts.
    • Strengthen long-term relationships with commercial and government clients.
    • Negotiate and approve subcontractor agreements.
    • Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction and retention.
    Risk Management, Compliance & Safety
    • Champion a culture of safety and regulatory compliance.
    • Conduct operational audits and risk assessments.
    • Ensure adherence to OSHA, all relevant codes.
    • Mitigate financial and contractual risk exposure.

    • This role oversees operations across multiple states
    • Multi-project portfolio across commercial and/or government sectors
    Qualifications

    Education & Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Electrical Engineering, Business, or related field (Preferred).
    • Minimum 10–15+ years of experience in electrical/low voltage construction.
    • 7+ years in senior leadership (Director, COO, VP level preferred).
    • Proven experience with P&L ownership and margin accountability.
    • Demonstrated ability to scale operations or lead organizational transformation.
    • Experience managing large-scale commercial and/or government projects.
