As a Director in DTCC’s Regulatory Relations Department, you will play a critical leadership role in shaping how DTCC engages with domestic and global regulators. You will lead high‑impact regulatory examinations, drive DTCC’s supervisory engagement strategy, and partner with senior business, technology, and risk leaders to ensure the firm continues to meet the highest regulatory standards. This is a highly visible role requiring exceptional communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory frameworks.
Your work will directly support the stability, transparency, and integrity of the financial markets.
- Serve as a key interface between DTCC’s regulated entities and domestic/global regulators, including the SEC, CFTC, FRBNY, NYSDFS, ESMA, FCA, and others.
- Lead DTCC’s most significant regulatory examinations from start to finish, including exam strategy, drafting and reviewing submissions, and preparing senior leaders for exam meetings.
- Support the preparation of management’s responses to examination reports and supervisory findings.
- Manage regulatory requests for information outside of the examination context by coordinating with personnel across business units, risk, operations, and technology.
- Review responses for completeness, clarity, and messaging consistency.
- Coordinate directly with regulators to clarify requests and maintain productive supervisory dialogue.
- Support regulatory reporting and communication related to technology or operational incidents, ensuring timely, accurate updates to supervisors.
- Where relevant, help interpret emerging supervisory themes.
- Facilitate meetings between regulators and DTCC staff, including preparing presentation materials, key messages, and strategic talking points.
- Support cross‑functional preparation for supervisory interactions and ensure participants understand priorities, risks, and areas of regulatory focus.
- Develop and produce periodic reporting for senior management and internal committees on regulatory matters, supervisory findings, remediation plans, and emerging risks.
- Advise business, control, and technology partners on regulatory expectations, examination trends, and lessons learned.
- Maintain Regulatory Relations’ central repository of examination materials.

- 7–10+ years of relevant experience within a financial services firm, technology company, regulatory agency, or law firm.
- Bachelor’s degree required; JDs are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex regulatory matters and/or leading responses to regulatory examinations.
- Exceptional writing skills with the ability to articulate complex topics clearly and persuasively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to confidently engage senior leaders and regulators.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a high‑stakes, fast‑paced, and highly regulated environment.
- Experience with technology‑related regulatory issues, including cybersecurity, operational resilience, digital assets, blockchain, or cloud‑infrastructure oversight.
- Experience working with global regulators or on cross‑border supervisory matters.
- Familiarity with examination processes for clearing agencies, trade repositories, or other market infrastructures.
The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations. Actual salary is determined based on the role, location, individual experience, skills, and other considerations.
